Everyone Welcome! See You Come Rain or Shine!

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide financial donations to the Town of Rockville for the care and maintenance of the infrastructure and grounds of the Andrew Ray Veterans Park, in an effort to recognize and celebrate the veterans of our community and preserve that heritage for future generations. Let freedom ring.

CentreBank and VFW Paul Taylor Post 1752 are joined forces to bring you The Andrew Ray Veterans Memorial Ride.

This ride is in honor of our fallen, those who have served and sacrificed, and those who are MIA/POW. Monies raised from this ride will be presented to the Town of Rockville, as part of the Bicentennial celebration on behalf of CentreBank and VFW Paul Taylor Post 1752 exclusively for future upkeep of the Andrew Ray Veterans Memorial, located at Beechwood Park in Historic Rockville, IN.

The Andrew Ray Veterans Memorial is currently in the construction phase, and will be dedicated at Beechwood Park, 500 South College Street, Rockville, IN.

This memorial is for all Veterans, their families, and good citizens of our community. Andrew Ray, born in 1785, is a Veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Indian Wars. Mr. Ray was one of three men who donated land in what would become Rockville on February 20, 1824.

We are extremely honored to have Rolling Thunder, Inc. Indiana Chapter #1, Indianapolis joining us! Their mission statement is “To publicize POW/MIA issues. To educate the public that many American Prisoners of War were left behind after all past wars and to help correct the past and to protect future veterans from being left behind should they become Prisoners of War or Missing In Action”. They are are a non-profit organization, and are committed to helping American veterans from all wars. Everyone who donates their time because they believe in this issue.

We ride rain or shine! Whether you have a motorcycle, jeep, or truck, you are welcome! All ages welcome, however, must be 21 and older to enter the ride stops.

Ways to Support

For those interested, brick pavers are on sale now to complete the Andrew Ray Veterans Memorial project, and can be purchased not just for family members, but also for friends. We challenge you and local businesses to adopt a Soldier, Sailor, or Marine, Airman in honor of their service and sacrifice.

There is a list of Veterans from cemeteries throughout Parke County that we would love to see as a part of the Memorial. These veterans served in the American Revolution, War of 1812, Civil War, Indian Wars, Spanish American Wars, Whiskey Rebellion, among others.

If you wish to purchase pavers, simply go to polarengraving.com/townrockville, or call Josh Sorrels, 765-569-3705 if you need assistance.
